Account Deletion Policy

Deleting your Spyrochat account is permanent. This page explains exactly what happens when you delete, what gets removed, the window you have to change your mind, and how long the process takes.

What deleting your account means

When you delete your Spyrochat account, you are asking us to remove you from Spyrochat permanently. This is not a temporary deactivation. Your profile, your statuses, your posts, and the files you shared in your chats are all taken off Spyrochat for good, and your identity is erased so no one can tell the account was ever yours.

Because this cannot be undone once it finishes, we never delete anything the moment you click the button. We first confirm it is really you, then remove your data gradually, and give you a window to stop the process if you change your mind.

We confirm by email first

The deletion never starts from a single click. After you request it, we send a confirmation email to every email address on your account with a secure link. Nothing is touched until you open that email and confirm.

The confirmation link expires in 10 minutes

For your safety the link is short lived. If it expires before you confirm, nothing happens to your account and you simply request deletion again. If you did not request this, you can ignore the email or use the cancel link inside it, and your account stays exactly as it is.

Once you confirm, we send you one final email letting you know the deletion has started. That is the last email you will ever receive from us.

How the deletion happens, step by step

We do not wipe everything in one go. Your data is removed gradually, in small batches, one stage at a time. This keeps Spyrochat stable and makes sure every file, including the ones stored outside our database, is properly cleaned up. The stages run in this order:

  • Your statuses. Every status you posted, along with its media and thumbnails, is deleted in batches.
  • Your message files. The photos, videos, documents, and other files you sent in chats are permanently erased from our storage.
  • Your posts. Everything you posted to your feed is removed in batches.
  • Your account details. Your name, bio, avatar, contact, location, website, wallet balance, PINs, and login password are erased, and your profile is turned into an anonymous, unidentifiable placeholder.
  • Your connections and records. Your email addresses, login sessions, push subscriptions, notifications, saved cards, saved bank accounts, likes, views, followers, blocked list, and archived chats are all deleted.

Any file that fails to delete on the first try is automatically retried later, so nothing is left behind.

What gets permanently removed

By the time the process finishes, all of the following are gone from Spyrochat for good:

  • Your statuses and their media.
  • The files, photos, videos, and documents you shared in your encrypted chats.
  • Your posts and everything attached to them.
  • Your profile information and your identity on Spyrochat.
  • Your wallet balance and your saved cards and bank accounts.
  • Your email addresses, login password, sessions, and every other record tied to your account.

You can cancel, but only before it finishes

While the deletion is still running, you can stop it. Simply log back in to your account. Logging in automatically cancels any deletion still in progress and brings your account back to active.

Anything already deleted is gone forever

Cancelling stops what has not been reached yet, but it cannot bring back anything the process has already removed. If some of your statuses, files, or posts were deleted before you logged in, those are permanently gone and cannot be recovered.

For that reason, if you are unsure, cancel as early as possible. The longer you wait, the more of your data will already be gone.

How long it takes

Deletion runs quietly in the background and is processed in batches over time, not all at once. How long the whole thing takes depends entirely on how much you have on Spyrochat, the number and size of your statuses, chat files, and posts. A light account finishes quickly, while an account with a lot of large media takes longer.

Estimated completion: 6 to 24 hours

For most people the process completes within 6 to 24 hours, and heavier accounts with a large amount of media can take longer. This is the window you have to log in and cancel if you change your mind.

We cannot give an exact minute because the time scales with your own content. The more you have stored, the longer the full cleanup runs.

After deletion is complete

Once the process finishes, your login credentials are wiped and your account is turned into an anonymous placeholder with no personal details. At that point you can no longer log in, cancel, or recover the account in any way.

There is no grace period after completion and no way for us to restore a finished deletion. If you want to use Spyrochat again after that, you would need to create a brand new account.

A few records are kept after deletion, but only the ones the law and fraud protection require us to hold. These are a minimal deletion record of the name, username, and email that were on the account, your identity verification (KYC) records where you completed it, and your transaction history. We hold these strictly to handle disputes, fraud, and legal and regulatory requests, never to profile you or contact you, and your username and email are freed so a new account can register with them again.
